Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, and Bill Clinton named Leaders and Heroes

In the Times top 100, Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck appear in the category of Leaders. They made it into this category because they have influenced many conservatives, to get back to the roots of what America is all about for many of us.

Sarah Palin, in her write up of Glenn Beck in the Times article said, "Who'd have thought a history buff with a quirky sense of humor and a chalkboard could make for such riveting television?"

She also said that Beck is "amazing and patriotic", adding that Beck "inspires others to learn and respect our nation's history."

Palin also went on to say that Beck's radio and television programs are immensely popular because he is "self-taught", and that he has "become America's professor of common sense, sharing earnestly sought knowledge with an audience hungry for truth".

Telling the truth, however, has made Beck and Palin targets of not only the liberal media, but also Obama supporters, and Obama himself. That is a no-brainer since Glenn Beck exposes the truth about what Obama is doing to America, and to the US Constitution.

Sarah Palin is also a target for liberals, mainly for her views on abortion and same-sex marriage that mirrors conservatives' family values.

Ted Nugent, the rock start, said of Sarah Palin, "We who are driven to be assets to our families, communities and our beloved country connect with the principles that Sarah Palin embodies".

If you Google either of their names, the majority of hits produce hateful, vile titles for these two as well. They are kind of like the villain on your favorite television show, the ones you love to hate, except liberals really do hate these two people.

Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck belong on the list of leaders. It is their strong belief in American values that make them popular with conservatives and immensely unpopular with liberals.

Putting Family, God, and Country first, make them two people who stand out among most influential people in the media today. Depending on whom you ask, it is for completely different reasons.

While Sarah and Glenn are on the list of influential leaders, one of America's impeached presidents, Bill Clinton made it on the list of Heroes.

You would think that a former US president would be on the list of leaders, instead of on the heroes list, but there are good reasons for that. Bono, of U2 fame, who did the write up for Clinton in the Time Magazine piece, described Bill Clinton as "a huge crowd puller wherever he goes. Rock stars can't be President (lucky for you), but we've all got reason to be thankful that Presidents can be rock stars."

This goes back to my complaint about what is happening in our country today that started with Marlo Thomas decades ago. Today's society took her "Free to be you and me" theme for kids to a completely new level to match society today.

In my day, GI Joe was a hero. Child star Shirley Temple, who managed to handle the heartache that comes with their popularity waning as they grow up, became a role model for young girls.

With Bill Clinton's pot smoking, draft-dodging heydays of his past, and his sexual escapades during his Presidency, that lead up to his impeachment, it is no wonder he earns "hero" status.

Clinton did not qualify for Leadership status, because as the mastermind of 9/11 said, the terrorists expected a weak response from the US for 9/11, the same weak response he saw Clinton give to the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center, and the weaker response to the bombing of the USS Cole.

Clinton's wife Hilary may be a role model for young women, in some people's eyes. However for me, what would have made be proud of our Secretary of State, would have been if she walked out of the United Nations delegation yesterday, when the nut job of Iran said, "Regrettably, the government of the United States has not only used nuclear weapons, but also continues to threaten to use such weapons against other countries, including Iran."

Several European delegations, including the French and British, walked out of the General Assembly hall. Clinton should have followed them out the door. I would have given her a standing ovation for that.

Instead, she chose to follow her husband's example of showing weakness, and our current president's example of bowing to the very people who seek to destroy us.

Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck emerge as the heroes for conservatives. They are the ones who stand on principle when it comes to believing that America is the greatest country in the world. Palin and Beck would have worked out of the UN. That is why they are high up on the list of Times 100 Most Influential People.

To sum it up in simpler terms, we live in an age where Hollywood can take out Superman's words, "Truth, Justice, and the American Way", and replace it with "Truth, Justice, and all that good stuff".

This mentality, prevalent among liberals, makes Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck, leaders and heroes, among conservatives.
